The Hospice of Moorestown VNA is proud to present Camp Firefly this summer at Camp Ockanickon, Medford NJ. This three-day, two night camp will start on Saturday, August 23, and conclude on Monday, August 25 2008.
The overnight camp is open to children ages 7-14 who have lost a parent, sibling or any special person through death and are still coping with grief. The program will be fully funded by The Hospice of Moorestown VNA and its sponsors, and will be available at no charge to registered participants.
Campers will spend three days in a caring, nurturing environment with a team of grief professionals, counselors and peers who have had similar experiences. Traditional camp activities such as swimming, boating, hiking, arts & crafts and cookouts will be combined with specialized bereavement activities designed to help the children overcome their grief and to cope with the loss of their loved one
